03 The studio

Good design starts with how a space feels.

Before finishes and furniture, we look at how a room is entered, where the light falls at four in the afternoon, and how the people who live there actually move through it.

From that understanding we plan — adjusting proportion, openings and sightlines first — then layer in material, colour and the objects that give a home its temperament.

04 Design philosophy

Principles we return to, project after project.

Five quiet commitments sit beneath every decision we make — from the first floor plan to the final object on the shelf.

  1. i.

    Function before decoration

Layout, storage and circulation are resolved first; the beauty of a room grows out of how effortlessly it works.

  2. ii.

    Thoughtful use of natural light

We read each site's orientation and borrow, bounce and temper daylight before reaching for artificial solutions.

  3. iii.

    Tactile materials, considered finishes

Surfaces you want to touch — timber with grain, stone with depth, plaster with movement — chosen for how they age.

  4. iv.

    Simplicity balanced with warmth

Restraint without coldness: edited rooms that still feel generous, grounded and lived-in.

  5. v.

    Designed around everyday living

Interiors are measured against real routines — school mornings, Sunday lunches, quiet evenings — not just the photo.

06 Materials & details

A palette built on touch.

We favour materials that gain character with use — surfaces that feel honest under hand and settle comfortably into the Australian light.

Let’s make room for something considered.

Tell us about the space you’re imagining — a whole home, a single room, or a renovation on the horizon. We’ll begin with a conversation.
